Launching Today: The Mentorship Program!March 17, 2017
The truth? Today’s launch has been freaking me out.
Being immersed in a sea of countless educators, speakers, webinars, courses, and e-books, I have felt both afraid and ashamed of my desire to teach. Does the following sound familiar? Anytime I launch something new for my business, I worry that…
…people will think I’m just doing it for the money.
…my services won’t provide any real value to others.
…I’ll fall flat on my face.
Guess what? These limiting beliefs prevent us from doing the stuff we’re called to do! When I think about teaching, I think of what has truly stuck with me over the years. Although workshops, online courses, and e-books can be powerful tools, they are only small pieces of the puzzle.
In eight years of business, my most transformative lightbulb moments have stemmed from one-on-one conversations with people who are in the trenches alongside me. These mentors have offered wisdom, encouragement, and tough love when I’ve needed it most.
They’ve helped me see my own worth when I couldn’t see it myself.
In my heart, I believe mentors are crucial for growth. They understand our daily struggles, view our unique situations with fresh eyes, and push us out of our comfort zones. Instead of prescribing a magic bullet formula for success, a good mentor provides encouragement, resources, real-life strategy, and (perhaps most importantly) accountability.
I used to think that in order to mentor others, I needed to know everything. I had to be an expert on all things business & photography before I could really serve them. And really, based on that logic, I’d be waiting forever!
Good mentors don’t know everything – that’s not their job. Their job is to help others clarify their vision & chart a clear path. The best mentors meet you right where you are, with open arms and an encouraging spirit. In a world of naysayers, they’re the steadfast reminder: Yes, you can.
The Mentorship Program
Today I am launching a project dear to my heart: The Mentorship Program!
In the creative industry, I saw a need for education that paired heartfelt encouragement with tailored strategy & accountability. I didn’t want to leave business owners feeling empty from their experience, but empowered by an action plan. With a passion for face-to-face connection & delivering custom experiences, the Mentorship Program was born!
I serve the photographer or creative who craves a custom, in-person experience. We’ll cut through the fluff, getting to the heart of your business and your life. Together, we’ll define what success looks like for you & chart a purposeful course in that direction. You don’t have to do this alone!
