Kim & Dan both blush a little when talking of their first fateful meeting at Dunkin’ Donuts, of all places. But let’s be honest, what better way to start a relationship than with sugary, doughy goodness?
Although they live & work on the East Coast with their two pups, their families hale from northwest Wisconsin. The rustic, relaxed Brule River Barn was the perfect fit for their destination wedding. On the day, we saw every shade of weather, from sun to rain to fog, and even a double rainbow.
Putting family first was a huge priority for this pair, and it spanned the entire day: The wedding party consisted of all family members, the desserts crafted by Kim’s brother Brett, and all beer was brewed by another of Kim’s brothers & his wife. Even the tap handles were affixed to a tree trunk cutting, crafted by Kim’s dad (you have to see it to believe it — I need one!).
Apart from having a visually stunning wedding full of personal, meaningful details, Kim & Dan designed a day as relaxed & genuine as they are. Sometimes I have pinch-me moments, thinking: “How do these couples find me?” They’re salt-of-the-earth folks, the kind who make you feel special and rare.
