First, let’s go back to 2008…

It started as a dream: A flicker, really. A college sophomore diving into her first photography class with her dad’s old Pentax K1000. The satisfying weight of a camera in-hand, the fluttering heart of a clicked shutter, the lingering scent of darkroom chemicals, and a girl who always knew she’d blaze her own trail.

Fast forward half a million photos later, 100+ weddings, countless sessions, and infinite connections made with incredible humans, and I’m still armed with a zest for capturing honest love, laughter, and adventure.

Today, eight years into this journey, I am thrilled to announce that Bailey Aro Photography is growing! Starting today, my first Associate Wedding Photographer, Chelsea, is joining my team. Some of you may recognize Ms. Chelsea Dobs (pictured below, right) as my 2nd shooter at many 2016-17 weddings.

Chelsea’s Story

In early 2016, Chelsea responded to my call for wedding day 2nd shooters. On a chilly spring afternoon, we met for coffee + connected right away. Even though she was a self-proclaimed newbie, with a portfolio featuring mostly photos of her dogs & cute house, I knew I had to work with her!

Chelsea brings ease, humor, and joy to every wedding she captures. In the nearly fifteen weddings we’ve photographed together, I have been so impressed with her exponential growth from an inspired gal with a camera, to a blooming photographer. Chelsea has abundant experience photographing weddings under my wing, along with serving her own wedding clients.

What exactly is an Associate Photographer?

Great question! An Associate Photographer works under the brand of an existing photographer. This allows us to serve clients when the primary photographer is already booked, or serve those with different budgetary needs. Chelsea’s clients receive the same elevated experience, full of the special touches & dedicated service that Bailey Aro couples have come to know + love!

Will Bailey still photograph weddings?

Beginning in 2019, I (Bailey) will be stepping away from full day weddings to focus on Boudoir, along with a handful of adventure elopements each year.
