One of my favorite not-so-secret session spots: Boulder Lake. Located just north of Duluth, close to home, and reminiscent of the B-dub (for those unfamiliar, that’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness). This little slice of woodsy heaven is rich with mosquitoes in spring, paddlers in summer, and golden birch groves in fall. It’s my fave. Kayla + Ryan made the trip to Duluth for an October frolic in the woods, and I can’t wait for their white-barn-wedding this September. Let’s lace up our boots & go!

Bonus: You can even camp on the tiny islands (!!).
