They’re always warm & welcoming. They break the ice, make my clients belly-laugh, and refill mimosas when required. Above all, they make my clients feel absolutely gorgeous inside + out! McKenzie & Jamie have been doing my boudoir hair & makeup since my pre-studio days of booking hotel suites. I am so grateful for their talent + fierce friendship! Today I’m sharing fun interviews with each lady. Get to know them below!
Meet McKenzie: Hair
Your Name: McKenzie McCullough
Your Boudoir Superpower: To make every client’s hair look sultry and beautiful!
What is your favorite part of doing hair for boudoir clients?
My favorite part about doing hair for boudoir clients is their reaction to when they look in the mirror once their hair and makeup has been finished. I also find it very inspiring to hear their reasons for why they decided to do a boudoir shoot.
When you’re not serving hair clients, how do you spend your time?
When I’m not behind the chair doing hair, I love to spend time with my family, my husband Alex, spunky our one year-old daughter, Molly, and our scruffy bearded dog, Gauge. Currently, you can find me on the ice. My husband and I are avid ice-fishers braving the cold and embracing the outdoors (or indoors, we’re not necessarily “roughing it” on the ice). 😉
At The Boudoir Suite, we’re all about redefining beauty. Complete the following sentence: Beauty is _______________.
Beauty to me is loving yourself for who you are! As long as you’re happy with yourself, then that’s all that matters.
Share a few encouraging words for women who are on the fence about booking a boudoir session.
If you’re on the fence about booking a boudoir shoot, take the leap and do it already. You won’t have any regrets! I’ve never met anyone who regretted booking their session. Bailey is amazing! And your hair and makeup gals aren’t too bad either. 😉
What would you like future clients to know about your approach to boudoir hair?
My approach is simple. The more natural the better!
In your opinion, what is the best mimosa ratio?
Ooh, I say the more booze the better! 3/4 champagne & 1/4 orange juice!
Where can people find you outside of The Boudoir Suite?
You can find me at Verde Salon (303 E Central Entrance). You can also follow me on Instagram at mckenz_mccullough or on FB at Hair by McKenzie McCullough.
Meet Jamie: Makeup
Your Name: Jamie Snyder
Your Boudoir Superpower: Makeup!
What is your favorite part of doing makeup for boudoir clients?
I love seeing the difference of the women’s confidence from the first moment they come in the door to after they are all made up! The change is huge and I can see how much more comfortable they are!
When you’re not serving makeup & hair clients, how do you love to spend your time?
I am involved with multiple theater companies doing hair and makeup! That takes up a lot of free time! When I’m not there I love spending time with my fur babies Penny and Louise!
At The Boudoir Suite, we’re all about redefining beauty. Complete the following sentence: Beauty is _______________.
Beauty is self love! The more love you give to yourself, the more love you will give to others! And that makes for one beautiful world!
Share a few encouraging words for women who are on the fence about booking a boudoir session.
Do it! You will find a whole new love for yourself! Sometimes we need to see ourselves through other people’s eyes and in this case through Bailey’s camera!
What would you like future clients to know about your approach to boudoir makeup?
Have fun with it! Makeup is there to be played with, not to be afraid of!
In your opinion, what is the best mimosa ratio?
I’m going to have to go with the good old 50/50 ratio, because I’m a child & enjoy orange juice more than champagne!
Where can people find you outside of The Boudoir Suite?
I’m an independent stylist at Illusions Hair Design.
