Rachel & Adam. Where on earth do I begin with these two? He’s a lumberjack (no, really!), she’s an account manager at a local digital marketing firm. I’m not sure if it was their sharp wits, their totally homespun wedding-in-the-woods, or the relaxed pub crawl feel to their day. Maybe it was their wedding theme, “With Whiskey & Love.” In any case, I developed a couple crush on these two right away.
Apart from knowing how to celebrate, these two have hearts of made of gold (and moss and birch bark). Each moment of their wedding day had personal meaning. They met while working on Crane Lake, making its longest dock a perfect place for their first look. Their ceremony was on family hunting property, featuring a groom-built birch altar, hay bale seating and some subtly glittering branches (no-brainer!). To get there, we needed geographic coordinates & solid vehicle suspension. To honor Adam’s father & Rachel’s grandmother, Jameson & Grey Goose were respectively sipped during the ceremony. Then later, after caravanning to several north woods dive bars, they whooped it up at The Orr Legion. Together with their family & friends, they did nearly everything themselves — from a DIY taco bar to the flowers to Rachel’s handmade gown.
Rachel & Adam’s day was not simply an event, it was a journey — an adventure. It effortlessly flowed from cheers & celebration to reflective moments & tears, then back again. We weren’t just capturing events, we were witnessing a legacy unfold. To this pair, I offer my heartiest cheers!
