Can you say sweater season? Although I adore summer, let’s face it: Nothing beats crisp air, pumpkin-flavored everything, and a full spectrum of crunchy leaves. In the past year, Boudoir Sessions have been a smashing success! I am so inspired by the many women who’ve said “yes” to this empowering, transformative experience. Today I am thrilled to announce two new dates for Fall & Winter 2015-2016!

But first, let’s talk about boudoir.

Boudoir is a little French word meaning bedroom. I know you want to sound it out, so go ahead: “boo-dwar.”

There’s a widespread misconception that boudoir photography is exploitative and overtly erotic. But this experience, these images, are anything but. They are intended as tasteful, elegant, fine art images celebrating you. It is my honor to encourage women through butterflies, connect with them in heartfelt ways, and gently push them out of their comfort zones like a proud mama bird.

Although our health & wellness are important, we often get stuck on “those last 10 pounds” we feel we ought to shed. Boudoir is about celebrating your body right now, not because it meets a standard of beauty, but because of the awesome things it can do. I capture the hearts of real women by getting to know them, laughing with them, and helping them embrace their bodies just as they are.

With boudoir, the question is often “What to wear?” Many women love lace & lingerie, while some prefer their comfiest oversize sweater. Others opt for a men’s white dress shirt or a cozy plaid flannel. The most important factor? Wearing something you feel fabulous in, whether it’s a lingerie set or your favorite pajama tee.

Boudoir images make a wonderful gift for yourself or another — oftentimes both! Feeling butterflies? I promise, those are normal. My approach is relaxed & lighthearted, and we’ll probably be chatting like old gal pals by the end of your session. To calm those butterflies, be sure to read the client Love Letters further down!

FAQ

What should I wear? Do I need to bring my own accessories etc.?

As noted above, bring a few items you feel fabulous in! When you book a session, I’ll send some inspiration & ideas to get you started. Although I will have select accessories & blankets on hand, I encourage you to bring pieces that are reflective of your style, too.

Do you capture full nudity?

This is based on each woman’s comfort level. There are many tasteful ways to capture implied nudity without full exposure. Oftentimes, showing less can be even more sensual & elegant. Feel free to contact me directly & I’d be happy to answer any specific questions!

Will my images remain private?

By default, your images will be kept private. Should you feel comfortable sharing any of your images in a portfolio or online, I will first obtain written permission from you.

How to Book

Sessions begin with 45 minutes of hair & makeup, followed by your 30-minute shoot. When booking, please note your preferred session time. Spots will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, so get in touch soon!
