With the dawn of a new decade, it’s been hard not to feel nostalgic — especially given the wild ride of 10+ years as a photographer + entrepreneur!

A walk down memory lane…

2008: Fell in love with photography via the college darkroom. Captured my first paid client session.

2010: Photographed my very first wedding.

2013: Went full-time with my photography business. Got married to my summer camp crush! Narrowed my focus to weddings, couples, and boudoir.

2014: Hosted my first Boudoir Mini Sessions in a hotel suite overlooking Lake Superior!

2016: Added an incredible new 2nd Shooter to my team: Chelsea Dobs. Began mentoring creatives & photographers. Opened a boudoir studio in Downtown Duluth.

2017: Launched my curated gifting company, White Spruce Market!

2018: Promoted Chelsea from 2nd Shooter to Associate Photographer! Scaled back significantly on my own wedding bookings to make room for other projects.

2019: Started Cedar Bound, a joint venture with my husband, which has evolved into a glamping/tiny house manufacturing company! Proudly watched Chelsea rock her second full season of weddings for BAP. Felt a stronger tug to teach, coach, and mentor.

2020: This beautiful blank page is ready to be filled!

 

With that in mind…Chelsea & I have an exciting announcement for Bailey Aro Photography!

After four years of having Chelsea on Team BAP, first as a 2nd Shooter, and then as Associate Photographer, I am thrilled to share that Chelsea is starting her own photography business, Chelsea Dobs Photography!

This is a natural parting that we’ve both been working toward. As my brands have grown, I’ve always known this chapter would end one day, and when the time was right, that Chelsea had dreams of starting her own photography business. So rest assured, we’re both feeling excited (& bittersweet) about this new chapter.

 

Here’s what you can expect:

• Chelsea is booking weddings, couples, and newborn sessions under BAP through June 30, 2020. Her calendar is almost full for the first half of 2020, so if your date falls during that time, get in touch soon!
• All bookings for July 1st & beyond will be forwarded to Chelsea & booked under Chelsea Dobs Photography. For the past few months, she’s already been booking weddings for the 2nd half of 2020, and her calendar is filling quickly (YAY!). I’m so excited to watch her continue to blossom under her own brand!
• I (Bailey) will continue to book Boudoir Sessions, along with select couple sessions, brand sessions for small businesses, and elopements. For the foreseeable future, I will no longer be booking full-day weddings. It’s been an incredible ride and an absolute honor to capture 130+ couples starting their marriages!

Here’s what you can expect outside of Photography:

• My husband & I will be launching the sales side of Cedar Bound this winter, and will deliver our first units to customers in Spring 2020! Full website coming soon. 😉
• White Spruce Market will continue to grow, with a special focus on corporate & client gifting for businesses big and small. We love helping businesses elevate their brand & client experience through thoughtful gifting!
• This winter, I will be launching a shop of resources for photographers & small business owners. Get ready for e-books, mini courses, templates, and oh-so-much more!
• I will continue working with small biz owners in 1-on-1 Mentoring Sessions.
• My website has been updated to reflect my multiple brands + a shift toward teaching/mentoring. Take a peek here!
• Plus a few fun goals that I’m working toward — stay tuned!
